Future Roots Project believes that in order to build a better future, we must concentrate on helping our most cherished resource – children. When children grow up in communities with access to basic resources, have teachers who are adequately prepared to foster creativity, critical thinking, comprehension and self expression, they are more likely to develop a love of learning. By continuing to nurture education and wellness we are making communities stronger.
We believe that teachers play a crucial role in advancing society and our primary project is a Central American vocational training program that over 450 elementary school educators have attended. By sharing literacy strategies, educational games, songs, and activities, we are shifting away from the old methodology of memorization, repetition, copying and dictation.
Now, students are being challenged to think critically, solve complex problems, comprehend advanced material and express themselves fluently.
